Please note: These calculators give general estimates from population-level formulas. They are not medical advice, and they may not reflect people on GLP-1 medications precisely — appetite suppression, rapid weight loss, and lean-mass changes all shift the real numbers. Always consult your prescriber for personalized guidance.

How BMI is calculated

BMI is your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres. The standard bands are: under 18.5 underweight, 18.5–24.9 normal weight, 25.0–29.9 overweight, and 30.0 or above obese.

It is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. It says nothing about where your weight sits or what it is made of.

What BMI misses on a GLP-1

BMI cannot tell muscle from fat. Two people at the same BMI can have completely different body compositions — and on a GLP-1 medication, a falling BMI can hide the fact that a meaningful share of the loss came from lean tissue.

That is why weekly trends in protein intake, strength, waist measurement and body composition tell you far more than a single BMI reading.
